By night, the hut opens on selected evenings (around three or four times a month) to host fabulous open-air feast nights!

These are outdoor, rustic, ‘bring your own plate’ affairs.  We cook just one dish per event showcasing the best of our doorstep produce and you buy tickets for the nights you wish to come to. These are released in monthly batches.

Previous feasts have included ‘Lobster & Chips’, ‘Slow-roasted spring Lamb’, ‘Wood-fired Seafood Paella’, ‘Mackerel Grill’, ‘Sticky Ribs & Pulled Pork’. We cook outdoors using either wood-fire, charcoal grill or our ever-growing collection of huge Paella pans!

We are not licensed however you are more than welcome to bring along your own alcohol.

If these nights interest you then it may be worth joining our mailing list, as tickets have previously sold out quickly (within minutes of release).

Every day, 10am-4pm

Season runs March – Oct

We are called The Hidden Hut for a reason. Finding us may turn into a small adventure…but be please be assured that the secluded location is well worth it. If you reach the beach and still cannot see us, look behind you and up. When the hut was originally built before the war it was designed so that it could not easily be seen from the beach – this is useful to bear in mind.

We can be found on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula, on the South coast of Cornwall.

You can get to us by parking in the ‘Porthcurnick Beach Car Park‘ on New Road, Portscatho and walking the short distance along the panoramic coastal path – this is the most advisable. Put TR2 5HD into your sat nav. From here, we are a short walk (just 2 fields and some granite steps) along the coastal footpath in the N-Easterly direction towards Porthcurnick Beach. When you get to the granite steps leading down to the beach, you carry on straight up the other set of steps in front of you and we are just over the brow of the hill.

If you need to drop beach kit off or require disabled access (still involves a few shallow steps) you may wish to drive via Rosevine (put TR2 5EW into your sat nav). This route is a narrow single-track residential lane and is required to be kept clear for emergency vehicles, so we thank you for not parking here if you’re fit & able to walk across the coast path from the main car park (but you’re very welcome to drop off and unload your beach gear). As its single track, it can get pretty difficult in Summer holidays and may involve some tight reversing skills. To get to it, you take the ‘Rosevine’ turning off the main road at Trewithian signposted towards the Driftwood and Rosevine Hotels. You pass the hotels and you’ll find the beach right at the bottom of the hill. We are situated on the far right-hand side above the beach via the boat park field.
