At your first sight of this town when you are on the main road, you may not immediately be attracted by its seemingly simple landscape, and somewhat be annoyed by the blazing sunshine. However, your attitude towards Vang Vieng will be definitely reshaped after your exploration.
Vang Vieng today is a town of backpackers from all over the world; no matter where tourists are from, Europe or Asia, they drop in the town for relaxation and recreation. Some visit the town by chance on their way to Luang Prabang or Vientiane, others with limited spare time arrive here at weekend and not a few visitors stay in Vang Vieng long than already planned, even in half a year. You must be interested in the gorgeous Nam Song River and the magnificent karst mountains lining it. The imposing limestone structures rise up out of the land and run for kilometers, framing the fields and the lazy river
